Create A Masterpiece of Memories For Christmas

by Nancy Muldowney

If you're looking for something a bit out of the ordinary to give a family member or a friend this year, what about going through that stack of photos you've accumulated over this past year or over many years. Take these candid shots of individuals, families or just friends getting together, make a collage of the photos, cutting down some by taking out superfluous scenery around the figures. Making the photos different shapes makes the collage much more interesting. You can put them in a frame to make a conventional picture that can be hung on the wall or you can be more creative than that.

We have come up with another way of putting these photos on display. We have been making a collage of photos, mounting them on a colorful or decorative background and then with our picture moulding, we have made trays out of these collages. We make a regular looking picture frame then we put handles on it. We have covered the collage with Plexiglas in order to protect the photos and so that when used it can be sponged off.

This is a decorative and functional use for some of those photos that you collected either this past year or maybe some that you have saved for through the years. These trays can be on display all the time whether laying on a table or sideboard or they can lean against a wall on a table or a shelf. It also is a way to give something thoughtful and unique to someone you care about and they can't help but be reminded of you all year through. Create a masterpiece with images of your good times with those you love.
